The reason limit switches exist is because if the warmed air is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. A normal limit switch is a type of sensor switch in the heating area that decides when the heated air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
Major signs of a laboring main limit switch
- The heating and AC system will not begin the ignition sequence or will not stay running longer that five minutes
- The system is starting to erratically frequently
