Trane PTED090 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch has a sensor in the heat exchanger that decides when the heated air is actually warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
