The flame sensor is a safety device that will sense the proper flame upon ignition. As with most devices used for safety reason, if the flame sensor is triggered the entire HVAC system will stop until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Red flags the primary flame sensor has very little life left
- Your furnace will not work and will shut everything down
- The propane or natural gas will not burn no matter what
- System runs sporadically barely
