Carrier DR Limit Switch
Limit switches are built because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that senses, or governs, when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated.
Key clues of an ineffective critical limit switch
- Your system is beginning to runs uneven on more than one occasion
- The heating and AC system refuses to kick in or will not stay running longer than 30 seconds
