A flame sensor is a safety feature that will consistently detect the appropriate flame while the system is starting. As with most devices used for safety reason, if the flame sensor senses a problem the system will halt until the problem is dealt with.
Key clues of a weakening Carrier flame sensor
- The furnace will not even begin to start and shows an error code on the board
- The gas entering the furnace refuses to try to start an ignition sequence and the main board displays on error code
- The whole system will operate rarely only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
