A flame sensor is a safety feature that will dependably sense the acceptable flame during ignition. As with most devices used for safety reason, when the sensor is triggered by an event the furnace cannot start again until the problem is dealt with.
What happens when my flame sensor has to be replaced?
- The main type of gas finds it impossible to start an ignition sequence no matter what
- The furnace is unwilling to ramp up and produces an error code on the circuit board
- HVAC system will work occasionally at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
