Your air handler will be unable to function without the main control board properly connected to the unit. The Carrier 38TKB030 control board is made to control everything including the gas valve, the igniter, most sensors and the blower all together. Be absolutely sure when you choose a replacement due to variances between heating and cooling systems. The correct control board will have to be compatible with the brand and the model of your particular system.
Major signs to watch for in a failing Carrier control board
- There is flashing code displayed on the board
- The furnace or AC does not operate whatsoever
