It is impossible for your furnace or air handler to even function lest the circuit board is installed as it should be according to the manufacturer. The control board is created to regulate everything including the gas valve, the igniter, the flame sensor and the blower all at once. Be very careful when you choose a control board because of the wide variety of models within certain brands. A replacement board will have to match part numbers both the make and model of your heating and cooling system.
