The main reason limit switches are made is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that decides when the heated air is warmed to a point for the blower to be activated.
Some warnings of a poorly working limit switch
- The heating and AC system will not even start or will not stay running longer than 10 minutes
- The system is starting to become unpredictable more than once
