RCA RACP1206 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board determines when to initiate the defrosting phase if necessary, to get rid of the frost that collects on the outdoor unit. The defrost sensor board is relayed information from a defrost sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to make the decision on when the defrost cycle should begin.
What red flags are there that my outdoor defrost sensor board needs replacing?
- Your main control board could throw an error of some type referring to a bad defrost board
- The defrost feature never runs even though there is quite a bit frost built up
- Your HVAC system will not work due to the safety features installed
