Lennox XP16-048 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is a contraption that will consistently detect the proper flame when igniting the system. As you could guess, if the sensor get triggered the furnace cannot start again until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Warnings of a worsening primary flame sensor
- The LP or natural gas will not ignite and shut down
- The furnace starts sporadically but only on the third Wednesday of on months beginning on Thursday
- Your furnace is unwilling to work when you crank the thermostat up
