The limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that decides when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated. Limit switches are built because if the air never warms up then the house will never get warm enough.
Signs to watch for in a bad critical limit switch
- System will not begin the ignition sequence or will not stay running as it should
- The whole system is beginning to become inconsistent frequently
