Lennox HPXA12-018 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only used on furnaces that burn gas and is one that can reliably detect the exact flame while the system is starting. As with other safety devices, if the sensor generated a error the whole system stops for as long as it takes to remedy the problem.
Major signs of a defective Lennox flame sensor
- The furnace will kind of run infrequently at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- Your heating system will not ramp up when the control board tells it to
- The LP or natural gas cannot properly ignite and shut down
