Limit switches exist due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch has a sensor in the air handler that can determine when the heated air is warmed to a point that it can be circulated throughout the house.
What happens when my limit switch is not working properly?
- The system starts to become inconsistent often
- Your Lennox system will not begin nor will it stay running for any significant length if time
