Lennox CBX32MV-018 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board is jobbed with determining when to begin the defrosting phase in order to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. It looks to a temperature sensor located somewhere by the condenser to ascertain when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Subtle cues of a failing defrost board
- Defrosting refuses to initiate especially when there is a rather large amount of frost that makes the unit run like crap
- Your main control board may show an alphanumeric error code referring to a bad defrost board
- Most systems will stop functioning for the simple fact of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
