The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for cooling the outdoor compressor, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be discharged into the air outside. Please make sure you get the proper voltage and amps as on the current fan motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this tends to make installing it easier and cheaper too.
