The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts. The limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that senses, or governs, when the air is warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
