The defrost sensor board will begin the defrosting phase which may be needed in order to get rid of the frost that collects on the outdoor unit. The defrost board is relayed information from a temperature sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.

Major warnings the AC defrost sensor board will not last the year

The defrost sequence will not kick in even though there is excessive frost that has built up
The HVAC system could not work for the fact of frost blocking the airflow outside
The HVAC system control board may issue an alphanumeric error code when a defrost board fails to initialize
