A normal limit switch is a switch in the air handler that determines when the air is warmed to a point to activate the main blower. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
Major indications of a declining main limit switch

- The HVAC system will not start or run longer than a minute
