The control board is created to oversee the gas valve, the ignition igniter, all the various sensors as well as the blower all at once. Most systems will not run at all without the main control board installed as it should be according to the manufacturer. A matching board will have a matching part number that will fit in the brand and the model of your heating and cooling system. Be absolutely sure when you choose a control board because of the many variances of HVAC systems.
