The flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that will sense the exact flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As expected, if the sensor produces an error everything comes to a halt until the problem is fixed.
Signs the primary flame sensor will eventually need to be replaced
- Your heating system cannot even start at all
- The gas that has entered the furnace cannot properly ignite and the control shows an error
- System will sort of operate rarely at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
