A flame sensor is one that can reliably detect the proper flame in accordance with the initial ignition sequence. Due to the overall safety issue, when the flame sensor is activated the gas valve is shut off and the system halts until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Major symptoms your flame sensor will need to be replaced
- LP or natural gas has difficulty trying to ignite and the system throws an error code
- The entire heating system works infrequently at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- Your
system cannot begin working and completely shuts down
