The control board is made to operate everything including the gas valve, the igniter, all the various sensors as well as the air circulator all in one unit. Your air handler will be unable to operate whatsoever unless this important circuit board is installed. The proper control board should be compatible with the brand and the model of furnace or air handler you have.
