The flame sensor is a contraption that will sense the proper flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. Because of the safety issues involved, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the system remains completely shut down until the problem is dealt with.

- Your gas furnace will not produce any heat and produces an error code on the circuit board
- The gas that has entered the furnace has problems trying to start an ignition sequence no matter what
- The whole system operates infrequently only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
