The limit switch has a sensor in the heating area that senses, or governs, when the heated air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
How do you know when your limit switch most likely is not working right?
- The HVAC system is starting to become inconsistent frequently
- The heating and AC system will not even start nor will it stay running like it should
