The air filter was created for trapping really small dust parts and other tiny particles from the inside air inside the home. The filter can both protect the unit and make it run much more efficient while also filtering the air you breathe. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the filter should probably be replaced or simply cleaned at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
Some clues your Hampton Bay air filter is in need of replacing
- Light will almost not show on the other side the filter
- It is highly recommended to replace your air filter four times a year in order to have cleaner breathable air inside
- The unit air filter looks bad and probably should be replaced now
