The control board is created to regulate the gas valve, the ignition igniter, the flame sensor as well as the blower all together. Your furnace or AC will not be able to function unless this important circuit board is configured and seated properly. The proper control board will need to be a match with your existing board and be compatible with both the brand and specific model of HVAC system.
