The defrost sensor control board commences the defrosting phase which may be needed in order to continue normal heating and cooling operations. The defrost sensor board looks to a defrost sensor located near the condenser to verify when the defrost cycle should begin.
How do you know when your defrost board is in need of replacing?
- Defrost session refuses to run especially when there is a rather large amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- The control board may show an error of some type produced when the defrost control board fails to receive a signal
- The AC may stop functioning because of the frost blocking the flow of air
