The control board is designed to control the gas valve, the igniter, all the various sensors as well as the air circulator all together. Most systems will not function without the main control board hooked up and is correctly configured. Be very careful when you decide to replace your control board due to the many differences between certain brands. The proper control board should have a replacement part number that matches both the make and model of air handler system you have.
