The purpose of the ignition control board is that it keeps an eye on gas flow, the igniter and all the flame sensing devices. It has been a very important board that has now become a major component of the main board instead of a separate board.
How do you know if your major ignition board really needs to be replaced?
- Ignition sequence does not initiate then the thermostat send a signal
- The on-signal from the thermostat does not show up at the main board
- Any other device within the furnace is explored and ends up being OK
