The reason limit switches exist is because if the warmed air is too cool the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air. The limit switch is a type of sensor switch in the heating area that senses, or governs, when the air is warm enough for the air to begin normal home circulation.
General indicators that your limit type switch is dead
- Your system begins to act differently occasionally
- The HVAC system refuses to kick in or run longer than a minute
