The defrost sensor board determines when or if to start an important defrosting cycle which may be needed in order to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. It relies on a specific sensor located near the condenser to verify when to begin.
Symptoms your defrost board is on its last leg
- The HVAC system control board could throw an alphanumeric error code referring to a failing defrost control board
- Unit defrost session has not run for a while despite the fact that there is quite a bit frost on the external unit
