Goodman GMS8 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board controls if and when to commence the defrost sequence which may be necessary to continue normal heating and cooling operations. The board is influenced by a temperature sensor located in the outdoor unit to agree when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Indications your defrost board will not live much longer
- The primary control board could throw a type of error code referring to the failed defrost sequence
- The system may stop functioning for the simple fact of frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- The defrost feature will not initiate even though there is quite a bit frost on the external unit
