The defrost sensor control board will begin the defrost cycle which assists to continue normal heating and cooling operations. The defrost sensor board relies on a temperature sensor located near the condenser to make the decision on when the defrost cycle should begin.
Clues the defrost sensor board is dead
- Air conditioning may end up not running because of lack of airflow through the outdoor unit
- The main control board might issue an error signal produced when the defrost board is bad
- Defrosting does not begin even when there is a large quantity of frost that makes the unit run like crap
