A limit switch was crafted because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts. A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the heat exchanger that decides if and when the air is warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents.
