Goodman DCS Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will sense the exact flame when igniting the system. As with other safety devices, if the sensor produces an error the whole HVAC system will remain stopped until the problem is fixed.
General warnings of a weak flame sensor
- The heating system will sometimes work sporadically only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
- The heat system cannot generate heat whatsoever
- The propane or natural gas has difficulty trying to ignite and the system throws an error code
