A flame sensor is one that will sense the exact flame during ignition. As you would probably could have guessed, if the sensor goes off everything stops for as long as it takes to remedy the problem.

system refuses to produce heat and produces an error code on the circuit board - System starts sporadically when it feels like it
- The gas has a tough time trying to properly ignite and shuts off
