Limit switches are built due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts. A normal limit switch is a switch in the air handler that decides when the heated air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated.
Clues of an ineffective limit switch
- Your system is beginning to behave erratically on a regular basis
- The heating and cooling system will not initiate nor will it stay running longer that five minutes
