The heating element allows fresh air to be heated prior to the blower having it scattered throughout the house. Your heating system is unable to produce nearly enough heated air for the whole home if the heat element is broken.
How can I tell if my main heat element is crapping out?
- The element appears old-looking, charred and about to fall apart
- The element itself has difficulty in its ability to heat up or get hot enough due to its age
- There is a lack of heat made by your HVAC system at all
