Goodman AEPT060 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost sensor control board controls if and when to commence the defrost sequence which may be needed in order to keep your outdoor unit from plugging up. The board depends on a temperature sensor located somewhere by the condenser to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.
Signs the AC defrost sensor board will eventually need to be replaced
- The main board may issue an alphanumeric error code referring to the failed defrost sequence
- Your HVAC system will cease to operate for the simple fact of lack of airflow through the outdoor unit
- Defrost mode does not run especially when there is a rather large amount of frost built up

Before buying or purchasing any Goodman AEPT060 part, do your due diligence and double check the correct model as well as make a visual comparison so that you are positive that the proper replacement defrost sensor board is being ordered. There is no rule that says you have to install the replacement part alone. Hire someone with experience in your community to pay to install it for you.
