It is impossible for your furnace or air handler to even operate whatsoever without the main control board installed. The control board is created to direct the gas valve, the igniter, most sensors and the blower all in one unit. A matching board will have to match part numbers both the make and model of furnace or air handler you have. You must do some research while selecting a replacement because of the wide variety of HVAC systems.
