The unit filter is designed to be good at filtering tiny dust fragments and other tiny bits from the inside air inside the home. This can both keep the unit dust-free and help it be more efficient while also filtering the air in your home. Due to the amount of dust in the house, the air filter must be exchanged or possible scrubbed clean at least twice a year if not more, depending on how much you use it.
What signals that my filter is not well?
- The air filter looks gray or brown and probably should be replaced right now
- Manufacturers have advised to swap out your air filter about every 90 days in order to have clean air in the home
