Limit switches are built because if the warmed air is too cool then the house will never get warm enough. The limit switch is a type of sensor switch located in the furnace that can determine when the air is actually warm enough to activate the main blower.
Simple indications of a bad limit switch
- The heating and AC system refuses to start or run well even though max temp has not been reached
- The system begins to run inconsistently time after time
