Friedrich VEA12K Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board determines when or if to start the defrost cycle which may be necessary to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. The control board looks to a temperature sensor located somewhere by the condenser to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.
Simple signals the AC defrost sensor board needs a replacement ASAP
- Most systems will end up not running due in part to frost blocking the fins on the outside unit
- Unit defrost session will not initiate even though there is a large amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- The main control board could throw an error of some type when the defrost board fails
