The main reason limit switches are made is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts. A normal limit switch is a switch in the heat exchanger that determines if and when the air is actually warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air.
Simple indications of a declining critical limit switch
- Your system is beginning to behave differently repeatedly
- The HVAC system is unable to start or run longer than a minute
