A basic electrical transformer is used for many products which also includes your heating system as it converts a certain amount of electricity to a different voltage, 120V to 12V, for example. Heating and cooling transformers are all different and you should be aware of the specific necessary voltage readings. If a replacement is necessary, then it would be a good idea to buy one that is assessed for the correct voltage for the sake of safety.
