Carrier RHS Blower Wheel
The blower wheel is attached to the blower motor and is traditionally used to provide forced air through an entire house. It is sometimes called a squirrel cage due to a funny similarity of a hamster wheel. Regardless of what you call it, it is a very vital device that is needed for proper air pressure within the ductwork.
Some clues of an unhealthy main blower wheel
- If any part of the wheel has been wrecked and it spins lopsided
- You see much less air coming out of the vents
- Grinding sound heard while the system ramps up
