Carrier PB Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only used on furnaces that burn gas and is one that will dependably sense the appropriate flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. Because of the safety issues involved, when the flame sensor is activated the system remains completely shut down for as long as the problem remains.

- The whole system will work intermittently when it thinks it should
- Your furnace is unwilling to start at all
- Any type of gas that has entered the furnace has a tough time trying to start an ignition sequence and shuts off
