Carrier FC4B Limit Switch
The limit switch contains a sensor in the heating area that senses, or governs, when the air is warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air never warms up the you will lose all the heat as the air flows through the ducts.
Indications limit switch has very little life left
- The heating and AC system will not start or run well longer than 10 minutes
- The system starts to go through the startup sequence but stops quickly on more than one occasion
