A normal limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that makes the determination if and when the air is actually warm enough for the blower to be activated. Limit switches are crucial because if the warmed air is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts.

- The HVAC system will not even start or run even though max temp has not been reached
